Read incoming uploads or secure messages
The instructions depend on whether you are using the Outlook desktop app (on Windows or MacOS), Outlook mobile app (on Android, iOS), or the web version of Outlook (such as using office.com or outlook.com).
Desktop:
- Open Outlook and select the email notifying you about a secure message received.
- Open the Encyro add-in and log in if necessary.
- The add-in will automatically decrypt the incoming message and files.
- To download a file simply click on it. The file should download automatically to your default downloads folder. (If using the “new” Outlook app, clicking the file will open a new browser window. Once the download is done, close the browser window to return to Outlook.)
- If there are multiple files you will see the option to Download all. Clicking on this will open a new browser window where the zipped file download starts automatically. When the zipped file has downloaded, close the browser window to return to Outlook. The files (combined into a zipped archive) will be saved to your default downloads folder.
Web:
- Login to Outlook Web and select the email notifying you about a secure message received.
- Open the Encyro add-in and log in if necessary.
- The add-in will automatically decrypt the incoming message and files.
- To download a file simply click on it. If there are multiple files you will see the option Download all. A new browser window will be opened where the download starts automatically. Once the download is done, please close the browser window to return to Outlook. The file you selected or, if you selected “Download All”, a zipped archive containing all the files, will be saved to your default downloads folder.
Mobile:
- Open the Outlook mobile app on your phone and select the email notifying you about a secure message received.
- Open the Encyro add-in and log in if necessary.
- The add-in will automatically decrypt the incoming message.
- To download the files, you will have to open the Encyro website in a mobile browser, navigate to the message, and download the files.
